Overview
The 23rd International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting & Exposition takes place 23–26 September 2026 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow, Scotland. The IMS Annual Meeting is widely regarded as the defining annual gathering in myeloma, covering the full arc from basic and preclinical science through to practice-changing clinical data.
The International Myeloma Society is a professional, scientific and medical society founded to bring together clinical and experimental scientists working on myeloma, with a mission to promote research, education and clinical studies on all aspects of multiple myeloma worldwide. Its membership spans basic research scientists, clinical investigators, physicians and allied healthcare practitioners across more than 80 countries.
Scientific program
The 2026 program is developed solely by the International Myeloma Society and is built around four thematic sessions:
- Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma — risk-adapted induction, transplant eligibility and quadruplet regimens
- How to Treat First Relapse — sequencing immunotherapy, CAR-T and bispecific antibodies
- Blood-Based Technology for Diagnosis and Monitoring — circulating tumour DNA, mass spectrometry and peripheral-blood MRD
- Monitoring the Immune System and Preventing Infections and Adverse Effects — infection prophylaxis and toxicity management in the T-cell-redirection era
Alongside the thematic blocks, the meeting features talks and symposia led by key opinion leaders in the myeloma community, keynote addresses, joint sessions with regulatory agencies and partner organisations, Meet-the-Expert sessions, oral abstract sessions covering basic biology, preclinical trials and clinical studies, plus poster presentations and moderated poster discussion sessions.
Who should attend
Haematologists, medical oncologists, transplant and cellular-therapy physicians, haematology trainees and fellows, clinical pharmacists in oncology, laboratory and translational scientists, clinical trial teams and advanced practice providers caring for patients with plasma cell disorders.
Abstracts and awards
Abstract submission feeds the oral and poster programme, and the society runs IMS Awards for Exemplary Abstracts alongside its Career Development Award and the IMS / Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation Translational Research Grant. Trainees and early-career investigators are specifically encouraged to submit.
Venue and registration
Sessions are held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) on the north bank of the River Clyde, Glasgow's largest exhibition and conference venue with direct rail access from Glasgow city centre. Registration, housing and the exposition floor are managed through the official IMS 2026 registration portal. IMS membership tiers (including reduced LMIC, member-in-training and associate rates) carry discounted registration.
