The St. Gallen Breast Cancer Conference Africa (SGBCC Africa) 2026 takes place on 1–2 October 2026 at the Hilton Cairo Grand Nile in Cairo, Egypt. Organised in partnership with the SONK Foundation and the internationally renowned St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference, the meeting brings the St. Gallen consensus approach to breast-cancer care directly to clinicians across Africa and the Middle East.
Led locally by Prof. Dr. Heba Gamal, the conference focuses on translating the latest St. Gallen consensus recommendations into practice in African and regional health systems. Topics span early and advanced breast cancer, molecular subtyping and genomic testing, neoadjuvant and adjuvant systemic therapy, surgical de-escalation, radiotherapy, management of hereditary breast cancer, and survivorship care.
The keynote program features Prof. Michael Gnant, a leading figure in international breast-cancer research and the St. Gallen consensus panel. International and regional experts discuss how global evidence applies to resource settings, patient populations and treatment pathways common in Africa.
Who should attend: medical and clinical oncologists, breast and surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncology nurses, and trainees with an interest in breast cancer.
Highlights include consensus-style case discussions, multidisciplinary tumour-board sessions and pre-conference workshops (now closed to new registrations). The meeting provides a rare opportunity to engage with St. Gallen faculty in the region.
