The International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) will hold its regional congress in Delhi, India from 27 to 30 November 2027, as confirmed on ISBT's official list of future congresses.
ISBT is the global professional society for transfusion medicine, founded in 1935 and based in Amsterdam. Its congresses bring together transfusion medicine physicians, haematologists, blood bank and blood establishment staff, laboratory scientists, transfusion practitioners, nurses, donor-programme managers, regulators and industry from around the world.
What to expect
ISBT congresses usually cover the full transfusion chain — from donor recruitment and blood safety to laboratory testing, blood component production, plasma and plasma-derived medicines, immunohaematology, transfusion-transmitted infections, haemovigilance, cellular therapies and patient blood management. Regional congresses place special emphasis on the challenges of the host region; a Delhi meeting is expected to highlight blood supply sufficiency, voluntary donation and quality systems across South Asia.
