The 30th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR 2026) is held from 19 to 22 November 2026 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, Malaysia — a milestone edition celebrating three decades of the society's work across the Asia-Pacific.
APSR is the region's principal respiratory society, and its annual congress is the main scientific meeting for pulmonologists, respiratory physicians, thoracic surgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, respiratory nurses and researchers from East, Southeast and South Asia, Australasia and the Pacific. The congress vision for 2026 is to advance care that is innovative, patient-centred, equitable and sustainable — a framing that reflects the marked disparities in respiratory care access across the region and the society's commitment to closing them.
The scientific programme runs across the society's assemblies, covering asthma and allergy, COPD, tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease, respiratory infections including pneumonia and post-pandemic respiratory care, lung cancer and thoracic oncology, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary circulation and pulmonary hypertension, interventional pulmonology and bronchoscopy, sleep-disordered breathing, respiratory critical care, paediatric respiratory medicine, occupational and environmental lung disease including air pollution, and respiratory structure and function. Postgraduate courses, hands-on interventional workshops and meet-the-expert sessions run alongside the main halls.
Abstract submission is open through the congress portal, and accepted work is presented in oral and poster sessions, with travel awards and young investigator prizes supporting early-career researchers from across the region.
Penang offers an accessible and comparatively affordable venue, and the organisers have built a programme of anniversary highlights to mark APSR's 30-year history alongside the scientific content.
Registration categories, the detailed programme, faculty listings, accommodation and visa guidance are published on the official APSR 2026 website.
