The FSPHP 2027 Annual Education Conference — Leading the Way: The Future of Professional Health Programs is held 14–16 April 2027 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center, Oklahoma City. It is the premier educational event for professionals dedicated to the health of healthcare professionals and to protecting the patients they serve.
Who convenes. Around 300 leaders from Physician and Health Professional Programs (PHPs), treatment providers, regulatory agencies, healthcare systems and affiliated organisations across the United States, Canada and beyond. FSPHP describes it as the most valued professional development training available for PHP staff and treatment professionals.
Conference objectives. The programme is built to help attendees:
- Evaluate emerging evidence and best practice in assessment, treatment, monitoring, recovery support and safe practice for healthcare professionals, and formulate protocols that protect both clinical safety and workforce retention.
- Apply innovative administrative and compassionate case-management strategies that strengthen participant engagement and recovery outcomes while sustaining programme quality.
- Integrate advances in clinical assessment, toxicology and monitoring science into day-to-day programme operation.
Themes. Expect sessions on physician burnout and moral injury, substance use disorder and psychiatric comorbidity in clinicians, fitness-for-duty and return-to-practice decision-making, drug and alcohol monitoring technology and interpretation, confidentiality and legal exposure, licensure and regulatory interaction, and the design of state-level well-being programmes.
Intended audience. Physicians of all specialties, physician assistants, nurses, dentists, psychologists, attorneys working with professional health programmes, physical therapists, licensed social workers, clinical coordinators, case managers, toxicologists and scientific researchers.
