The Egyptian Society of Surgeons (ESS) holds its 44th Annual Summer Meeting from 1 to 3 October 2026 at the Palestine Hotel in Montaza, Alexandria. As one of the longest-running surgical meetings in the Arab world, the ESS Summer Meeting gathers consultant surgeons, specialists, residents and trainees from across Egypt and the wider region for three days of scientific exchange on the Mediterranean coast.
The program reflects the breadth of contemporary surgical practice: general and gastrointestinal surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, colorectal surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, surgical oncology, bariatric and metabolic surgery, trauma and emergency surgery, and minimally invasive and laparoscopic techniques. Sessions combine state-of-the-art lectures, video sessions, debates and panel discussions led by leading Egyptian and international surgeons.
A Call for Abstracts invites original research, technical innovations and educational contributions, giving residents and young surgeons a valuable opportunity to present their work in front of senior faculty. Free-paper and poster sessions run alongside the main scientific program.
Who should attend: general surgeons, surgical subspecialists, surgical residents and fellows, and allied professionals involved in perioperative and surgical care.
Highlights include practical, technique-focused video sessions, multidisciplinary discussions on complex cases, a strong research and abstract component, and the networking opportunities for which the ESS Summer Meeting is well known. The Alexandria setting makes the meeting both a scientific and a social highlight of the Egyptian surgical calendar.
Registration, abstract submission and the scientific program are available on the official ESS meeting website.
