    About this event

The 14th National and 8th International Congress of the Jordanian Society of Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management (JSAIC 2026) is held from Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 September 2026 at the Grand Hyatt in Amman, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein.

The congress is the principal annual scientific gathering for anaesthesia and critical care in Jordan, and its international edition draws faculty and delegates from across the Levant, the Gulf, Europe and North America. It brings together anaesthesiologists, intensivists, pain specialists, anaesthesia technicians and critical care nursing staff for three days of lectures, workshops and case discussion.

The scientific programme covers the three pillars named in the society's title. Anaesthesia content addresses airway management and the difficult airway, regional anaesthesia and ultrasound-guided blocks, obstetric and paediatric anaesthesia, cardiac and thoracic anaesthesia, day-case and ambulatory practice, and perioperative optimisation of the comorbid patient. Intensive care sessions cover sepsis and haemodynamic management, mechanical ventilation and weaning, neurocritical care, renal replacement and the organisational aspects of ICU practice. The pain management track spans acute postoperative analgesia, chronic and cancer pain, interventional techniques and the responsible use of opioids.

Workshops and simulation-based sessions run alongside the main hall, typically covering ultrasound-guided regional technique, airway devices and point-of-care ultrasound — these are the sessions trainees prioritise and they fill early.

Abstract submission is open through the congress website, and accepted work is presented within the programme. The organisers also publish a downloadable congress flyer and the full scientific agenda, along with the committee lists, guest speaker profiles and registration categories.

For clinicians across the region, JSAIC has become a well-regarded and accessible congress that combines strong international faculty with content grounded in the realities of regional practice.
