ESC Preventive Cardiology takes place on 15–17 April 2027 in Lisbon, Portugal, at Centro de Congressos de Lisboa. Organised by the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC), it is an onsite congress dedicated to cardiovascular prevention. The 2027 theme, “Cardiometabolic Prevention in 2027: Person, Place and Profile,” reflects an increasingly tailored approach to the people receiving care, the settings in which they live and the profiles that shape cardiovascular risk.
The congress brings together clinicians, researchers, nurses and other healthcare professionals to connect scientific evidence with everyday practice. The official scientific overview highlights cardiometabolic prevention, behavioural science, digital health, rehabilitation and public health. It describes research, guideline updates and practical strategies for risk assessment and management across diverse populations. Expert-led sessions, interactive case discussions and professional exchange are intended to help delegates apply prevention approaches to patient care.
Announced educational features include Guidelines in Practice sessions using case presentations and interactive discussions. The Congress Programme Committee is chaired by Professor Maryam Kavousi, with Associate Professor Maria Marketou as deputy chair. The official committee roster and linked institutional profiles are recorded as programme leadership and committee membership, not as a confirmed schedule of individual presentations. A detailed timed agenda and programme PDF were not available in the reviewed material.
The call for abstracts is open until 19 November 2026 at noon CET, and clinical cases until 26 November 2026 at noon CET. Late-breaking science is a separate later window, opening on 10 December 2026 and closing on 19 January 2027 at noon CET; it is not described as currently open. Applicants should use the corresponding official call pages for submission rules and eligibility.
