The Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) presents "From Images to Impact: Practical Approaches to Cardiovascular 3D Modeling", a live online webinar on Monday, 19 October 2026 at 12:00 PM US Eastern Time (7:00 PM Riyadh time). Registration is through the official Zoom webinar page.
Three-dimensional modeling has moved from a research curiosity to a practical clinical tool in cardiovascular care. By turning cardiac MRI and CT datasets into virtual and printed 3D models, teams can better understand complex anatomy, plan surgical and interventional procedures, counsel families and patients, and teach trainees. This webinar focuses on the practical side of that journey — how imaging data becomes a model, and how that model creates real impact for patients.
The session brings together leaders of some of the most established pediatric and congenital 3D programs in North America:
- Ryan A. Moore, MD, MSc — Professor of Pediatric Cardiac Imaging and Chief Emerging Technologies Officer, Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
- Shafkat Anwar, MD — Professor of Clinical Pediatrics; Director, Pediatric Heart Center 3D+ Program; Medical Director, UCSF Center for Advanced 3D+ Technologies, University of California, San Francisco.
- Danish Vaiyani, MD — Attending Physician, Cardiac MRI and Inpatient Lymphatics, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
- Kanwal M. Farooqi, MD, MS (Speaker / Moderator) — Associate Professor of Pediatrics; Director, 3D+ Precision Modeling Program; Director, Coronary Anomalies Program, Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Expected themes, based on the faculty and title, include image acquisition and segmentation for modeling, virtual versus printed models, extended reality, applications in congenital heart disease and coronary anomalies, procedural planning, and building a sustainable 3D program within a hospital. A detailed timed agenda has not been published by the organizer.
Who should attend: cardiologists, pediatric cardiologists, cardiac imagers, radiologists, cardiac surgeons, interventionalists, imaging technologists, engineers working in medical 3D printing, fellows and trainees with an interest in cardiovascular imaging.
Format: online via Zoom. Registration fee and CME accreditation were not stated on the flyer or registration page; please check the Zoom registration page and scmr.org for the latest details.
