Overview
The ISLC-PAIS Conference 2026 runs 26–29 August 2026 at the H'ART Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands — a new international conference dedicated to Long COVID and other Post-Acute Infection Syndromes (PAIS), delivered in a deliberately COVID-safe environment.
Post-acute infection syndromes, including Long COVID, are among the most complex and urgent health challenges of our time. Their impact extends far beyond healthcare, affecting work, education, social participation and long-term wellbeing, with growing economic consequences. Despite rapidly expanding scientific insight, knowledge remains fragmented across disciplines, countries and care systems — the gap this conference is built to close.
The meeting also marks the launch of the International Society for Long COVID and Post-Acute Infection Syndromes (ISLC), an international, interdisciplinary platform bringing together researchers, clinicians, policymakers and patient representatives to accelerate knowledge exchange and real-world impact.

- Structured interdisciplinary cross-pollination — a format intentionally built to connect disciplines, career stages and perspectives in direct dialogue, in one venue

- Launch of a new international society for PAIS research and care
- Patient Recap — an accessible walkthrough of the key themes and findings for people with lived experience, without working through 100+ scientific presentations
- PAIS Summer School for early-career researchers
