Overview
The Saudi Society of Nephrology & Transplantation (SSN) hosts a free evening webinar, Advances in Managing High Dose Methotrexate Associated AKI, on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 21:00 Riyadh time via Zoom. The session is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) for 2 CME hours and is supported by an educational grant from SERB Pharmaceuticals, with event management by Event Troop.
High dose methotrexate (HDMTX) remains a cornerstone of therapy for osteosarcoma, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, primary CNS lymphoma and other malignancies. Yet acute kidney injury occurs in a meaningful share of courses, driven largely by crystal nephropathy in the renal tubules. Once kidney function falls, methotrexate clearance slows, plasma levels stay toxic for longer, and patients face mucositis, myelosuppression, hepatotoxicity and treatment delays. Recognising and acting on this cycle early is now a core skill in onconephrology.
