The 13th International Congress for Joint Reconstruction, Middle East (ICJR ME) is held from 2 to 4 April 2027 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
ICJR Middle East is one of the region's longest-running arthroplasty and joint reconstruction meetings, drawing orthopaedic surgeons from the Gulf, the wider Middle East, Europe, Asia and North America. The congress is chaired by Dr. Samih Tarabichi, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Chairman of the Tarabichi Center for Joint Replacement at Emirates Hospital Dubai, with Dr. Mohamed Muath Adi and Dr. Jaber Alkhyeli of Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, as presidents.
The scientific agenda is built around parallel tracks of short, case-based lectures, surgical video sessions and moderated discussion. Published sessions include sport and pre-metal knee surgery — partial ACL tears, tunnel placement pearls, graft choice, ACL fixation in young athletes and revision decision-making — followed by video tips and tricks covering meniscal repair, hidden meniscal instability, MPFL reconstruction, resection pearls and combined ACL and medial instability. Further sessions address innovation and the latest technology, including robotics updates, iliotibial band release in varus knees, the emerging role of radiation therapy in osteoarthritis management, peripheral nerve stimulation for chronic joint pain and cryoablation versus radiofrequency ablation. Hip and knee arthroplasty, revision surgery, periprosthetic joint infection, pelvic and trauma reconstruction and spine topics feature across the three days.
The faculty is large and international, combining regional leaders with invited international experts. Abstract submission is open through the congress website under the abstract submission guidelines, giving residents, fellows and researchers a route to present oral and poster work to a regional arthroplasty audience.
