The 1st Andalusia Electrophysiology Conference brings the cardiac rhythm community to Alexandria for two days at the Hilton Corniche Hotel: a full day of hands-on workshops on Thursday 24 September 2026, followed by the main scientific conference on Friday 25 September 2026. It is organised by Andalusia Conferences, the conference arm of the Andalusia healthcare group, in collaboration with the Africa Heart Rhythm Association, and is accredited by the American Association of Continuing Medical Education (AACME).
The meeting is built around the theme "Beyond debates to evidence practical guidelines" — a deliberate move away from open-ended controversy sessions towards clear, usable recommendations that delegates can apply in clinic and in the lab the following week. Cardiac electrophysiology has changed quickly in recent years, with pulsed field ablation, conduction system pacing, leadless devices, remote monitoring and rapidly evolving anticoagulation and screening guidance for atrial fibrillation. The inaugural edition is designed to translate that flow of evidence into practical decision-making for the everyday arrhythmia patient.
Expected content spans the breadth of clinical electrophysiology: atrial fibrillation management and ablation, supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, syncope and bradyarrhythmia, device therapy including pacemakers, ICDs and cardiac resynchronisation, sudden cardiac death prevention and inherited arrhythmia syndromes, and the interpretation of complex ECGs. The pre-conference workshop day on 24 September is intended for smaller, practical, case-based sessions where delegates can work through device programming, ECG and procedural material directly with faculty.
Among the announced faculty are Prof Omnia Kamel, Head of the Arrhythmia and Pacing Unit at Aswan Heart Centre, and Prof Mervat Aboulmaaty, Professor of Cardiology and Consultant Electrophysiologist at Ain Shams University — both long-standing figures in Egyptian arrhythmia practice and training. Further faculty are being announced by the organisers in the run-up to the meeting.
The conference is aimed at cardiac electrophysiologists and device specialists, general and interventional cardiologists, cardiology residents and fellows, internists who manage arrhythmia patients, intensivists and emergency physicians, as well as cardiac nurses, cardiac physiologists and industry-based clinical specialists who support device and ablation services. Alexandria gives the meeting a strong regional draw for delegates travelling from across Egypt, North Africa and the wider Middle East, and the Africa Heart Rhythm Association partnership signals an intentionally continental outlook for what the organisers plan as an annual series.
