The 2nd International Cardiogenic Shock Congress: Multidisciplinary Expert Pathways in Hemodynamics, Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS), and Recovery takes place from 28 to 31 January 2027 at the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, UAE. Pre-congress hands-on workshops run on 28–29 January, with the main congress on 30–31 January.
Building on the success of the inaugural edition, ICSC 2027 brings together an international faculty of leading experts, researchers and frontline clinicians to explore the latest advances in the diagnosis, management and recovery of patients with cardiogenic shock. The congress is positioned as a regional platform for scientific exchange, multidisciplinary collaboration and the sharing of innovative approaches that improve patient outcomes.
The scientific programme is built around state-of-the-art lectures, multidisciplinary panel discussions, pro-con expert debates, meet-the-expert sessions and case-based discussions. Delegates will work through contemporary hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support technologies including ECMO, Impella and ventricular assist devices, evidence-based treatment strategies, and emerging concepts in recovery and long-term care. Dedicated sessions address the particular challenges of cardiogenic shock in paediatric, geriatric and high-risk populations.
Stated learning objectives include gaining a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of cardiogenic shock, exploring advances in hemodynamic monitoring, optimising the use of mechanical circulatory support, integrating multidisciplinary approaches to patient management, identifying strategies for patient recovery, analysing real-world case studies and staying updated on cutting-edge research.
The pre-congress workshops provide immersive, hands-on training led by internationally recognised experts, designed to strengthen practical skills, sharpen clinical decision-making and give firsthand experience with the latest devices and therapeutic approaches in cardiogenic shock management.
Leadership includes Dr. José L. Díaz-Gómez (Congress Chair, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi / Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine) and Dr. Ahmed Sami Abuzaid (Chair of the Scientific Committee, Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute), supported by a scientific committee drawn largely from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and international centres in the United States and the wider Gulf.
Target audience: cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, transplant surgeons, intensive care physicians, anaesthesiologists, heart failure specialists, pulmonologists, paediatricians, neonatologists, respiratory therapists, perfusionists, vascular surgeons and nurses specialising in critical or cardiac care.
