    About this event

Advanced heart and lung failure, transplantation and collaborative science

The ISHLT 47th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions will take place 14–17 April 2027 at the International Convention Centre Sydney, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Organised by the International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), this is an in-person annual scientific meeting bringing together professionals working across advanced heart and lung failure, thoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. A separately priced preconference day is scheduled for 13 April, before the four-day annual meeting.

The meeting’s multidisciplinary planning structure spans cardiology, pulmonology, thoracic transplant surgery, anesthesiology and critical care, infectious diseases, pediatrics, nursing, pharmacy, pathology and research. Its published schedule-at-a-glance combines general scientific sessions, symposia, oral presentations, poster sessions and opportunities for professional-community discussion. These are confirmed programme formats; detailed talk titles and individual speaker assignments have not yet been published in the reviewed sources.

The Wednesday opening includes General Session I, symposia and oral sessions, Poster Session 01 and an early-career mentor meetup. Thursday includes General Session II, further symposia and oral presentations, mini-oral sessions and professional-community receptions. Friday continues the scientific and poster programme, while Saturday includes General Session III and additional symposia and oral sessions. The complete published four-day overview is recorded below; it is not a final talk-by-talk programme.

Preconference academies on 13 April: Pediatric Academy, “Global Perspectives on Establishing a Pediatric Thoracic Transplant Program — From Vision to Sustainable Excellence,” 08:00–15:00; Shock & Recovery Academy, 08:00–17:00; Nursing & Allied Health Academy, 08:00–16:00; and the ISHLT/PVRI/PHA/PHSANZ Pulmonary Hypertension Academy, 08:00–17:00. The source labels these times AEDT; attendees should verify Sydney local-time conversion. Additional content details are still forthcoming. Academy fees are separate: members/non-members USD 220/429 for Pediatrics, USD 330/539 for Shock & Recovery or Pulmonary Hypertension, and USD 108.90/220 for Nursing & Allied Health. Main-meeting registration is not required for academy attendance. The fee table calls Pediatrics “half day” despite its listed 08:00–15:00 timing.

Scientific programme chair Melissa Cousino, PhD, is affiliated with the University of Michigan; ISHLT President Peter Hopkins, FRACP, with The Prince Charles Hospital. Other official planning members include Anne Dipchand, Stephanie Pouch, Anup Varghese and Natasha Altman. These are verified committee roles, not confirmed lecture assignments.

Registration: fees are explicitly published in USD, inclusive of 10% GST, but overlapping official tables give conflicting amounts and date bands. The first table lists early physician member/non-member fees USD 1,017.50/1,397 and trainee member/non-member fees USD 346.50/506, with payment due by 3 February 2027, 23:59 US Eastern time. Another table uses different regular/late rates. No single starting price is displayed until clarified. The programme page says registration opens December 2026, whereas the registration page says November 2027; booking status is unverified.

Abstract submissions closed 29 September 2026. No verified event-specific credit total or sponsoring-company roster is published. Business Events Sydney and NSW Government are named supporters, not inferred pharmaceutical sponsors.
