The SCMR Stress MR 4 in DC course, hosted by the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) at the ACC Heart House in Washington, DC on September 25–26, 2026, is a focused two-day program designed to elevate participants' expertise in stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance (stress CMR) imaging.
Stress CMR is rapidly becoming an integral tool for the assessment of ischemic heart disease. Alongside conventional wall-motion and perfusion analysis, the ability to quantify myocardial blood flow has opened a powerful new dimension for evaluating coronary microvascular function, ischemic burden, and treatment response — making now the ideal time for cardiologists and imagers to sharpen their stress CMR skills.
The course blends didactic lectures, case-based learning, and hands-on training, with ample opportunity for interactive dialogue between participants and faculty. Attendees will learn how to design, acquire, and interpret stress perfusion CMR studies, and how to integrate quantitative myocardial blood flow measurements into everyday clinical reporting.
Course Directors are internationally recognized leaders in cardiovascular imaging:
- Dr. Ibrahim M. Saeed, MD, FACC, FSCMR, FASNC — Medical Director of Nuclear Cardiology at Virginia Heart; Co-Director of the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program at Inova Schar Heart & Vascular Institute; Associate Professor of Medical Education at the University of Virginia; and Chair of the SCMR US Advocacy Committee.
- Dr. Patricia Bandettini, MD, FACC, MSCMR — Senior Research Physician in the Cardiology Branch and Chief of the Clinical Cardiovascular MRI Program and Core at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), NIH; Director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship.
Target audience: cardiologists, radiologists, pediatricians, cardiac imaging technologists, and scientists who want to expand or refine their clinical use of stress CMR.
