The Qassim Orthodontic Clear Aligner Meeting 2026 (ملتقى القصيم العلمي للتقويم الشفاف) is organised by the Saudi Orthodontic Society and takes place on 18–19 September 2026 at The Cultural House (بيت الثقافة) in Buraidah, Qassim. The meeting brings the national clear aligner conversation to the Qassim region, combining two days of scientific lectures with two stand-alone hands-on workshops, and is accredited for 7 CME hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Clear aligner therapy has moved from a niche aesthetic option to a mainstream mechanical discipline, and this meeting is built around that shift. The scientific programme looks at what modern aligner practice actually demands: accurate diagnosis and case selection, digital treatment planning and staging, biomechanics and attachment design, skeletal anchorage, finishing and retention, and — importantly — the errors and complications that appear when planning shortcuts are taken. A dedicated lecture by Dr. Ahmad Altarawneh (Jordan) on 19 September, "Medical Errors Associated with Clear Aligners in Modern Orthodontics", addresses medico-legal and clinical pitfalls that orthodontists and general dentists meet in daily aligner practice.
Two independent workshops run alongside the lectures and are priced separately. Workshop 1, "Precision Orthodontics with Skeletal Anchorage: From Diagnosis to Clinical Mastery", is delivered by Dr. Haithem Dhan on 18 September (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM). Workshop 2, "Mastering Advanced Clear Aligner Treatment Planning", is delivered by Dr. Salim Qadri on 19 September (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM). The two workshop times do not conflict, so delegates may register for both in addition to the lecture programme.
Who should attend: orthodontists and orthodontic residents, general dentists who provide aligner treatment, dental students and SOS student members, and dental laboratory and digital workflow professionals working with aligner and skeletal anchorage cases.
Registration and fees (Saudi Riyals): SOS members pay 300 for the lectures and 700 per workshop; SOS student members pay 200 for the lectures and 600 per workshop; non-members pay 400 for the lectures and 800 per workshop. Registration is completed online in two steps through the official SOS Qassim meeting site, with secure card payment (mada, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay) through a Saudi Central Bank licensed gateway. An SCFHS registration number must be entered at registration for CME hours to be credited; delegates without an SCFHS number can still attend but will not receive CME credit. SOS student members should send a copy of their university card in reply to the confirmation email so the student rate can be verified.
