    About this event

Evidence to Excellence: Advancing Long-Term Predictability

#SaudiPerio5 — The 5th Saudi International Conference in Periodontics & Implant Dentistry is the flagship scientific congress of the Saudi Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (SSPI), an International Associate Member of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). It takes place from 12 to 14 November 2026 at the KSU Main Hall, King Saud University, Riyadh, with capacity for 2,000 delegates and 20 SCFHS-accredited CME hours.

The conference is built around the theme "Evidence to Excellence: Advancing Long-Term Predictability." Its purpose is to elevate, revolutionise and optimise periodontal and implant dentistry by embedding robust evidence-based practice into everyday clinical decision-making, so that long-term patient outcomes become genuinely predictable rather than case-dependent. Over three days the programme deliberately bridges the gap between current research findings and chairside application, pairing plenary science with hands-on courses and live-case discussion.

    Aim and learning outcomes

    • Explore and implement the latest techniques and technologies in periodontal and implant therapy, keeping participants' skills at the cutting edge of the field.
    • Apply evidence-based practice effectively in clinical settings to improve long-term predictability in periodontal and implant treatment.
    • Critically evaluate current research and trends and assess their applicability across different clinical scenarios.
    • Sharpen diagnosis and treatment planning through recent evidence, detailed case studies and real-life clinical scenarios presented by experts.
    • Exchange ideas with peers and international experts and build a professional network that supports continuing development in practice.

    International faculty

The 2026 edition assembles one of the strongest faculty line-ups the region has hosted in periodontology, including Prof. Leonardo Trombelli, Prof. Christer Dahlin, Prof. Gustavo Avila-Ortiz, Prof. Moritz Kebschull, Prof. Mauro Merli, Prof. Seung-Min Yang, Prof. Yang-Jo Seol, Dr. Iñaki Gamborena, Dr. Alessandro Crea, Dr. Nicolas Mallia, Dr. Vanessa Ruiz Magaz, Dr. Beatriz de Tapia, Dr. Fernando Luengo, Dr. Nicola Discepoli and Dr. Marco Roy, alongside Saudi and regional leaders such as Prof. Ali Alghamdi, Dr. Arwa Alsayed, Dr. Ahmad Aldajani and Dr. Alaa Fadhel Alsaffar.

    Pre-conference hands-on courses

A dedicated hands-on track runs on 11, 12 and 14 November covering guided bone regeneration with ePTFE membranes, staged and simultaneous GBR approaches, bone augmentation, predictable horizontal GBR using amnion-chorion membranes, and management of dental extraction sites. Seats are limited and booked separately through the SSPI portal.

    Special session

On 14 November the Y-SSPI Clinical Case Competition — Young Saudi Symposium of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry presents its winning cases (Dr. Wejdan Mohammed AlBander, Dr. Jana Ahmad Alwaznah and Dr. Salma Khaled Alarfaj), giving a platform to the next generation of Saudi periodontists.
