The 54th Annual Conference of the Jordanian Society of Surgeons (JSS) returns to Amman from 22 to 24 October 2026 at the InterContinental Amman Hotel, held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Faisal Al-Fayez, President of the Senate. This year the meeting is combined with the 14th Conference of Surgical Specialty of the Jordanian Ministry of Health (MOH) and is organised in collaboration with the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO), making it one of the largest gatherings of the surgical community in the Levant.
The 2026 congress theme, "Precision Surgery: From Evidence to Practice", focuses on how surgeons translate the latest evidence into safer, more individualised operative care. The organisers frame the programme around four pillars: innovation in surgery, global expertise, practical knowledge and better patient outcomes. Expect scientific sessions spanning general and gastrointestinal surgery, surgical oncology and the surgical specialties, alongside workshops and networking opportunities for surgeons, trainees and allied surgical professionals.
Founded in 1972, the Jordanian Society of Surgeons is the leading professional association representing surgeons from all specialties across Jordan. The Society advances surgical practice through scientific conferences, educational programmes such as its Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) course, research initiatives and continuous professional development, and plays a central role in raising surgical standards and improving patient care throughout the Kingdom.
The partnership with IASGO brings an international dimension to the meeting, connecting Jordanian and regional surgeons with gastroenterology and oncology experts from abroad, while the Ministry of Health's specialty conference brings together the surgical workforce from public hospitals across the country.
Abstract submission for this edition closed on 30 July 2026. A scientific programme is linked from the official conference poster; delegates should consult the conference website for the final schedule, registration and accommodation. Enquiries: info@jorss.org or +962 795 260052.
