The Traumatic Solid Organ Injury and Damage Control Surgery Workshop is a one-day, hands-on training day from the Saudi General Surgery Society (SGSS), delivered by the trauma and acute care surgery team of King Saud Medical City (KSMC).

Solid-organ injuries to the liver, spleen, pancreas and kidney are among the leading causes of preventable death after blunt and penetrating abdominal trauma. Management has shifted steadily towards selective non-operative care, interventional radiology and — when surgery is needed — abbreviated damage-control laparotomy. This workshop brings practising trauma surgeons together to review organ-by-organ decision-making and the principles of damage control, followed by a practical hands-on session on modern hemostatic agents.
