    Overview

The ERIC International Meeting 2026 is held 15–17 October 2026 at the World Trade Center in Barcelona, Spain, under the theme "New Frontiers in CLL Research." The meeting places a strong spotlight on chronic lymphocytic leukaemia as a model disease for advancing precision medicine and improving patient care, inviting renowned experts and engaged participants to share transformative insights and help shape the future of the field.

    About ERIC

ERIC was founded in 2001 as a European organisation devoted to improving outcomes for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and related diseases. It is a registered non-profit, a Working Party (WP7) of the European LeukemiaNet (ELN) and a Scientific Working Group of the European Hematology Association (EHA). Membership is open to all physicians and scientists working in or interested in CLL and related disorders. The organisation has recently adopted a new name — Education and Research on CLL — while keeping the ERIC identity.

ERIC's international meeting is held every two years and has historically covered the genesis of CLL, disease trajectories and outcomes, minimal residual disease, immunogenetics, Richter transformation, resistance mechanisms and the practical management of patients on targeted therapy.

    Scientific themes

Expected content areas, based on the published programme structure and ERIC's ongoing projects:

    • The genesis of CLL — monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis, immunogenetics and the cell of origin
    • Disease trajectories — spontaneous regression, clonal evolution and Richter transformation
    • Precision medicine — genomic and multi-omic risk stratification and early diagnosis
    • Targeted therapy — BTK and BCL2 inhibition, combination and fixed-duration approaches, and resistance
    • Cellular therapies — CAR-T and immune-directed strategies in CLL
    • The patient perspective — frailty assessment, patient preferences, infection risk and vaccination
    • ERIC platforms — including PEDRO, the adverse-event management platform
