4th Infectious Disease in Immunocompromised Patients Symposium (IDIC 2026)

The 4th Edition of the Infectious Disease in Immunocompromised Patients Symposium (IDIC 2026) convenes leading transplant infectious disease specialists, microbiologists, transplant surgeons, hematology/oncology physicians, critical care clinicians, and researchers in Riyadh from 3–5 December 2026 to advance care for one of medicine's most vulnerable populations.
Over three days, the symposium tackles the full spectrum of complex infections in immunocompromised hosts: solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) infections, donor-derived pathogens, cytomegalovirus (CMV), BK virus, RSV and emerging viral threats, invasive fungal disease, mycobacterial infections, antimicrobial resistance, ICU and VAD-related infections, and vaccination strategies for immunosuppressed patients. Sessions combine keynote lectures, case-based discussions, rapid-fire presentations, expert panels, and multidisciplinary consultation rounds.
IDIC 2026 also features a hands-on workshop programme. Workshop 1 (3 December, KFSHRC) delivers an OSCE and Solid Organ Transplant & Immunocompromised Infections course. Three parallel workshops on 4 December cover an OSCE Recap, Antibiotics 101, and How to Read a Research Paper — delegates select one. The scientific programme is guided by an expert committee chaired by Dr. Reem Almagrhabi (KFSHRC Riyadh) and including Dr. Ahmed AlHammadi (Emirates ID Society/SEHA), Dr. Abeer Alshukairi (KFSHRC Jeddah), Dr. Amani Yamani, Dr. Hanan AlTurkistani (KAMC Mecca), Dr. Maha Alamri, Dr. Neil Stone (UCH London), Dr. Rayid Abdulqawi, Dr. Reem Alameer, and Dr. Yamama Aljishi (KFSH Dammam). Abstract submission is open on themes spanning transplant infections, AMR, viral and fungal disease, ICU infections, vaccination, and novel diagnostics. Early bird deadline 1 August 2026; regular deadline 30 August 2026; author notifications 1 October 2026. Selected abstracts are considered for journal submission (1 November 2026).
