5th KSA ID Week 2026 — Infectious Diseases in a Changing World

KSA ID Week returns for its fifth edition as the Kingdom's flagship infectious diseases gathering, convened under the theme "Infectious Diseases in a Changing World: Innovation, Response and Transformation." Organised under the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, the congress brings together regional and international experts to examine how innovation, coordinated response and transformative approaches are reshaping clinical practice, public health strategy and health systems across the region.
Five days, three programmes
- 6 November — Courses & Workshops (13:30–20:00). Six parallel intensive courses: Adult Infectious Diseases Board Review, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Board Review, Certified Infection Control Review Course, Travel Medicine Review Course, the Antimicrobial Stewardship Masterclass (From Implementation to Excellence), and the Collaborating for Change workshop on advancing a regional infectious disease research network.
- 7–8 November — Main Conference. Morning plenaries, industry symposia, afternoon parallel scientific sessions, poster display and exhibition, plus a hands-on workshop, From Bench to Bedside: Empowering Clinicians with Genomic and Microbiome Tools for Smarter Infectious Disease Care. Day 2 closes with the recognition and awarding ceremony.
- 9–10 November — Microbiology Forum. Two dedicated days of main forum programme, symposia, workshop and closing ceremony for laboratory and clinical microbiology professionals.
Committee chairs
Dr. Majid Alshamrani, Executive Director of the Infection Prevention and Control Program at King Abdulaziz Medical City (MNGHA, Riyadh), chairs the congress, with Dr. Fayssal Farahat, Director of Community and Public Health, Infection Prevention and Control Program at King Abdulaziz Medical City and Professor of Occupational Medicine and Public Health, as co-chair.

Four submission tracks are open, all closing 1 October 2026:
- Abstracts for poster and oral presentation — research and case studies.
- Excellence in Infection Prevention and Control Projects — theme: Advancing Healthcare Through Innovation in IPC, for initiatives with measurable impact on patient safety and healthcare quality.
- Best Innovation in AI and Digital Health in Infectious Diseases — recognising AI, digital health or data-driven solutions improving ID prevention, diagnosis, treatment, surveillance or stewardship.
- Infectious Disease Awareness Photography and Art Contest — open to healthcare professionals, researchers and students.

Infectious diseases physicians, infection prevention and control practitioners, clinical microbiologists, laboratory scientists, pharmacists working in antimicrobial stewardship, public health specialists, epidemiologists, nurses and trainees preparing for board and certification exams.
Last year's edition drew more than 750 onsite delegates from across the GCC, over 150 international and regional expert speakers, 120 educational presentations, 25 high-impact sessions and workshops, and 20+ sponsoring and supporting organisations.
