The 21st International Congress on Infectious Diseases (ICID 2026) is the flagship biennial meeting of the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID), held 10–13 November 2026 in Madrid, Spain. ICID is the premier global forum that goes beyond clinical microbiology and communicable diseases to encompass all fields of infection within a One Health context, championing practitioners from every corner of the globe.

Pre-Congress Workshops — Tuesday, 10 November 2026 (limited capacity; early registration recommended):
- Hospital Outbreaks and HAI Surveillance — 09:00–12:00. Interactive session on real-time HAI surveillance, outbreak detection, case investigation and strengthening IPC practices.
- Wastewater Environmental Surveillance for Control of Infectious Diseases — 09:00–12:00. Sampling, testing and data analysis for population-level monitoring of viral, bacterial and AMR pathogens; integration into routine surveillance.
- Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Infectious Diseases — 13:00–17:00. AI applications in outbreak prediction, diagnostics, resource allocation, and ethics/equity in digital public health.
- Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Spain — Managing Suspected and Confirmed Cases in the Spanish HCID Network — 13:00–17:00. Clinical and IPC management of CCHFV, the emerging endemic threat in Spain since 2016.
Abstract submission:
- Author notifications: end of June 2026
- Late-breaking abstract submission window: 4 – 18 August 2026 (new, decisive and original results obtained after the regular deadline only).
- Early Career Researcher Travel Grant available for eligible submitters.
