EAN Congress 2027 — Gothenburg, Sweden
The 13th Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) takes place on 12–15 June 2027 at Svenska Mässan / Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden. The EAN Congress is one of the leading neurology events worldwide — a hybrid annual meeting uniting clinicians, researchers, educators, industry partners, residents, students and patient representatives for four days of science and education. Delegates can join onsite in Gothenburg or follow online, with on-demand content available on the virtual congress platform until 29 June 2027.
Overarching theme: "Transforming neurology: Embracing every brain"
The 2027 programme focuses on treatment in neurology — a timely topic as advances in genetics, immunology, neuroprotection and precision medicine have dramatically expanded therapeutic options in a field once limited to supportive care.
Named lectures (selection)
- Brain Prize Lecture — Patrik Ernfors (Stockholm): Neurons and circuits of pain
- Anita Harding Award Lecture — Christina Tassorelli (Pavia)
- Camillo Golgi Lecture — Paul Boon (Gent)
The congress is introduced by EAN President Kailash Bhatia, and the full programme includes symposia, focused workshops, teaching courses, hands-on sessions and session descriptions across all neurological subspecialties — stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, headache, dementia, neuromuscular disease and more.
