    About this event

The 8th International Turkic World Multiple Sclerosis Congress takes place from 2 to 4 October 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The congress is the eighth edition of a travelling scientific meeting that brings together neurologists, MS specialists, researchers and allied professionals from Türkiye, Central Asia, the Caucasus and neighbouring regions, following the 7th edition held in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 30 October to 1 November 2025.

The meeting is dedicated to multiple sclerosis and related demyelinating disorders, with a scientific programme covering diagnosis, disease-modifying therapy, neuroimmunology, imaging and long-term patient management. The published structure includes a full scientific programme, an invited speakers track, and dedicated oral and poster presentation sessions, alongside a poster exhibition area. Congress proceedings from previous editions are published as an abstract book, and the 2025 book is available from the organisers.

Abstract submission for the 2026 edition opened on 1 February 2026 and closed on 31 August 2026, with results announced to authors on 10 September 2026. Accepted work is presented through the congress oral and poster sessions, giving residents and early-career researchers from across the region a route to present MS research to an international audience.

Istanbul offers straightforward access for delegates travelling from the Gulf, Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, and the congress has become a recurring regional forum for exchanging clinical experience where treatment access, registry data and care pathways differ significantly between countries. Registration, sponsorship information and full programme details are published on the official congress website, and the organisers maintain an archive of past congresses dating back to 2019.

Healthcare professionals working in multiple sclerosis, neuroimmunology and general neurology — as well as MS nurses and researchers — will find this a focused, specialty-specific meeting rather than a broad neurology congress. Note that the congress language and much of the official communication is Turkish; delegates should confirm session language details with the organisers before travelling.
