Overview
Eyes on Residency: The Road to Ophthalmology is a free evening panel on Zoom. It's run by the Ophthalmology Scholars Society (OSS) with the Medicine Club at King Saud University College of Medicine (Deanship of Student Affairs). It takes place on Tuesday 29 September 2026, 8:00–10:00 PM (Riyadh time) and is hosted by medical intern Shaikhah Alsenani.
The session follows its tagline, "The Application. The Interview. The Match. The Reality." It gives medical students and interns an honest, first-hand picture of what it takes to match into ophthalmology in Saudi Arabia. Five first-year residents (PGY-1) from five different training centres share how they built their applications, prepared for interviews, ranked programmes and settled into life as an ophthalmology resident.
