The International Congress of the Egyptian Ophthalmological Society (EOS) 2026 is the flagship 3-day congress of the EOS, held 29 April – 1 May 2026 at the InterContinental Citystars in Cairo, Egypt. Organized by the Egyptian Ophthalmological Society — founded in 1902 and one of the oldest scientific societies in the region — the congress brings together leading ophthalmologists from Egypt, the Arab world, and internationally for an intensive scientific program covering cataract, refractive, retina, glaucoma, cornea, oculoplastic, pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, uveitis, and ocular surface disease.
Across 9 parallel halls (including a dedicated Wetlab), the program features 37+ symposia, 80+ instructional courses, 15+ keynote lectures, comprehensive sessions, free paper presentations, and competitive sessions including the Orchidia Competition and Jamjoom Competition. Highlight sessions include the Saudi Ophthalmological Society Symposium on "Challenging Pediatric Ophthalmology Cases by SGPOS" (Wednesday 29 April, 16:00 – 17:00, Hall B Al Hambra), Young Ophthalmologists tracks, and live wetlabs covering Vitrectomy, Phaco, Investigation, and DALK techniques.
