5th Saudi Conference on Forensic Medical Sciences (SCFMS 2026)

    01 Dec 2026 – 03 Dec 2026 · Crowne Plaza Riyadh Digital City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia · In-Person

The 5th Saudi Conference on Forensic Medical Sciences (SCFMS 2026) convenes in Riyadh under the theme "Global Horizons: Setting the Standard for Forensic Excellence," bringing together forensic pathologists, DNA and toxicology experts, digital forensics specialists, legal professionals, law enforcement leaders and researchers from across Saudi Arabia and the world.

Held 1–3 December 2026 at Crowne Plaza Riyadh Digital City, SCFMS 2026 builds on four previous editions that hosted 2,000+ attendees, 110 speakers, 320 scientific papers, 14 workshops and 35 exhibiting organizations across 25 participating countries. The 5th edition takes that legacy further by placing Saudi forensic science on the international stage, aligned with Vision 2030's commitment to world-class research, technology adoption and cross-border knowledge exchange.

Under President Dr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Yahya and Scientific Committee Chair Prof. Mohammed Madadin, the programme spans 24 tracks, including Forensic Pathology & Medicine, Virtual Autopsy (Virtopsy), Mortality Data & Death Certification, Microbiome Forensics & Taphonomy, Clinical Forensics & Medical Malpractice, Forensic Psychiatry & Behavioural Sciences, Domestic Violence & Vulnerable Populations, Humanitarian Forensics, Forensic DNA Profiling & Fingerprinting, Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG), Forensic Phenotyping & Epigenetics, Digital Forensics & Cybercrimes, AI & Machine Learning in Forensic Analytics, Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Investigations, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) & Re-creation, Forensic Toxicology & Chemistry, Fingerprints/Ballistics & Impression Evidence, Document Examination Forgery & Counterfeiting, Forensic Odontology, Forensic Anthropology, Wildlife & Environmental Forensics, International Accreditation & Harmonization, Clinical Governance & Cognitive Bias Management, and Simulation-Based Training & Competency Frameworks.

Keynote faculty include Dr. Michael Thali (Zurich – pioneer of Virtopsy), Prof. Heesun Chung (past INTERPOL DNA/Toxicology leader) and Dr. Jason Payne-James (renowned UK forensic physician), joined by an extensive Saudi and international scientific committee featuring Prof. Osama Al-Madani, Dr. Ada Al-Qenaibet, Dr. Khalood Al-Sowaiq, Dr. Fadia Al-Khatabi, Dr. Dalia Al-Saif, Prof. Osama Elserafy and 20+ additional experts.

Alongside the main scientific programme, SCFMS 2026 features hands-on workshops, an abstract/scientific paper track (submissions open via scfms.org), a dedicated exhibition showcase and structured networking with partners including King Fahd Security College, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, the Medico-legal Affairs & Forensic Sciences (MAFS) authority, and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority.

Delegates will leave with practical, applicable insights across the full forensic value chain — from crime scene to courtroom — and with new international collaborations that support the Kingdom's ambition to become a global reference point for forensic medicine, digital investigation and forensic education.
