The 2026 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), hosted jointly with the Canadian Association of Pathologists (CAP-ACP), takes place from 17 to 20 November 2026 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Quebec. Framed around the idea that "innovation meets the laboratory", it is a one-meeting-for-all gathering that brings the entire laboratory team together — pathologists, residents and fellows, medical laboratory scientists, pathologists' assistants, laboratory managers and educators — for four days of scientific sessions, workshops, posters and an exhibit hall.
The meeting opens on Tuesday 17 November with a set of pre-meeting Deep-Dive Workshops, each running the full afternoon: forensic pathology with the Canadian Association of Forensic Medicine; cytology, working through diagnostic grey zones across the standardized reporting systems; large language models in the clinical laboratory, taken from concept to bench-top; and a leadership workshop on coaching tools for conflict and change. The TRIG Genomics 101 workshop runs alongside them, and the day closes with the Wine Tasting Mixer, a ticketed social event.
Wednesday 18 November brings the first General Session, opened by the ASCP Presidential Address from Gregory G. Davis, MD, MSPH, followed by the keynote from Donald L. Siegel, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Director of both the Transfusion Medicine fellowship programme and the Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility. His lecture covers cell therapies with a focus on CAR-T: where the therapy stands today and what is coming next. The Exhibit Hall opens the same day with the Opening Reception.
Thursday 19 November is built around the profession itself. After the 40 Under Forty Lecture, the General Session opens with the CAP-ACP Presidential Address and continues as a moderated panel, chaired by CAP-ACP President Monalisa Sur, MBBS, FRCPC, addressing four issues shaping practice: digital and computational pathology (Matthew Cecchini, MD, PhD, London Health Sciences Centre and Western University); precision diagnostics (Pierre-Olivier Fiset, MDCM, PhD, McGill University Health Centre); workload and burnout (Britney Soll, BSc(HONS), and Raymond Maung, MBBS, FRCPC, MBA); and patient advocacy (Jason Karamchandani, MD, Scientific Director of the C-BIG Repository and Past President of CAP-ACP). Education sessions, poster presentations and the closing programme run through Friday 20 November.
Across the four days the programme spans anatomic and clinical pathology, cytopathology, hematology and coagulation, transfusion medicine and blood banking, molecular and precision diagnostics, clinical informatics and artificial intelligence, laboratory administration, quality improvement, patient and laboratory safety, and workforce development — a combination of lecture-based teaching and interactive, case-driven sessions.
Registration rates start at USD 199 for residents and fellows in training, USD 599 for laboratory professionals and USD 1,049 for pathologists, with early rates increasing on 4 October 2026. The official meeting hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Montréal, with attendee rates held until 15 October 2026; ASCP warns that no third-party housing company is endorsed.
