The Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress (SHBC) 2026 takes place on 8–9 October 2026 under the theme "Healthcare: Pathways to Progress". It is organised by the National Healthcare Group family of institutions — including Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Woodlands Hospital, Yishun Community Hospital, the TTSH Integrated Care Hub, the Institute of Mental Health, the National Skin Centre, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, the NHG Cancer, Eye and Heart Institutes, NHG Population Health, NHG Polyclinics, NHG Diagnostics, NHG Pharmacy, Community Care, NHG College and the Centre for Healthcare Innovation.
What the congress offers
SHBC is a premier gathering of healthcare professionals, industry leaders and innovators. Delegates attend plenary lectures and parallel track sessions led by distinguished speakers, explore emerging healthcare and biomedical trends, and connect with peers driving change across the region. Alongside the main programme, intimate symposia give delegates a chance to go deeper into specialised topics and exchange insights with experts over tea breaks and lunch. A dedicated exhibition and an active networking programme run throughout.
Scientific competition and abstracts
A central feature of SHBC is its scientific competition, open to first authors and co-authors submitting original unpublished work — or work previously presented at another conference, provided the abstract has not been published as a full manuscript. Accepted abstracts are featured on the SHBC website and presented at the SHBC Poster Village during the congress. Separate submission routes exist for NHG Health and non-NHG Health authors, with published award categories, FAQs and terms.

Who should attend
Registration is structured for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, general practitioners, medical officers and residents, lecturers, trainers and educators, healthcare administrators and students. Registration is completed online through the SHBC portal in three steps: personal and organisation details, congress selection, then review and payment.
For clinicians and researchers in the Gulf, SHBC is a practical window into Singapore's integrated care model, population health work and biomedical research output, with an accessible abstract route for those who want to present rather than only attend. The congress secretariat can be reached at nhggroup.shbc.secretariat@nhghealth.com.sg, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (GMT+8).
