The European Congress of Radiology 2027 (ECR 2027) will take place from 3 to 7 March 2027 at the Austria Center Vienna in Vienna, Austria, with onsite and online participation. Organised by the European Society of Radiology, the congress brings together radiology professionals, radiographers, physicists and others involved in medical imaging. The technical exhibition has a shorter published schedule, running from 3 to 6 March.
The 2027 edition is presented as “Healthcare Reimagined”, with the accompanying message “Updating the Role of Radiology” and a blue-edition visual identity. Congress President Prof. Dr. Mathias Prokop’s foreword places imaging within a wider transformation of healthcare: beyond interpreting images, radiologists help guide therapy, monitor treatment and support multidisciplinary clinical decisions throughout the patient journey. Artificial intelligence, precision medicine, more efficient workflows and sustainable healthcare are explicit themes in this current-edition statement, rather than subjects inferred from a previous congress.
The president announces case-based learning workshops, a new In Focus programme and expanded advanced-course offerings. A dedicated 2027 Case-Based Diagnosis Training page also confirms the returning interactive format for general radiologists and residents nearing the end of training. Its interlude theme is “When imaging changes management”, inviting cases in which imaging redirected care or improved outcomes. These are published educational directions and formats, not a complete timed programme. The congress timeline places the preliminary programme in November; no complete upcoming session timetable or programme PDF was verified in this research.
Registration is open. All congress tickets include onsite and online access during 3–7 March and on-demand access through 14 March 2027, although not every onsite session will be streamed. As of 25 October 2026, opening fees apply through 4 November: the full non-member fee is EUR 1,040, the full-member fee EUR 710 and the eligible student fee EUR 90. Published prices include 10% VAT, and category eligibility and proof requirements apply.
Regular abstract submission closed on 5 October 2026. Case submissions for the diagnosis-training interlude remain open until 14 December 2026; submissions are sent to cbdt@myESR.org using the official template. Cases should show how imaging changed management and include a concise medical history, imaging findings and outcomes. Late-breaking submission is scheduled to open on 16 December 2026 and close on 11 January 2027. The Young Audit Prize is also open, but official pages disagree between 16 and 18 December: applicants should confirm the deadline with ESR. No edition-specific accreditation award or credit total, confirmed speaking-faculty roster or named sponsor list has yet been verified; 2026 archive material is not presented as 2027 content.
