The 14th National Thoracic Surgery Congress, organised by the Turkish Association of Thoracic Surgery, is held from 15 to 18 October 2026 at the Kremlin Palace in Antalya. The invitation is issued jointly by Prof. Dr. Atilla Eroğlu, President of the Association, and Prof. Dr. Tevfik İlker Akçam, Congress President, who invite the entire thoracic surgery community to what the association frames as its major national gathering.
The National Thoracic Surgery Congress is the specialty's principal scientific meeting in Türkiye and is held on a multi-year cycle, which concentrates attendance and makes each edition a significant event for the field. The four-day programme brings together consultant thoracic surgeons, residents, and the pulmonology, thoracic oncology, anaesthesia and intensive care colleagues who share the management of these patients.
The scientific content spans the full breadth of thoracic surgical practice: lung cancer staging, resection and multimodality management; minimally invasive approaches including VATS and robotic thoracic surgery; mediastinal and thymic disease; chest wall deformity and reconstruction; tracheal and airway surgery; pleural disease, empyema and pneumothorax; thoracic trauma; oesophageal surgery where it falls within thoracic practice; infectious and inflammatory lung disease requiring surgical management; and lung transplantation. Perioperative care, enhanced recovery protocols and complication management run through the programme.
Video sessions demonstrating operative technique and case-based panels on difficult decisions are typically among the best-attended parts of the meeting, and dedicated sessions support resident and fellow research presentation.
Abstract submission is open through the congress website, which also provides a presentation template for accepted authors. Registration, accommodation, general information and the detailed scientific programme are published on the official site in Turkish and English.
