    About this event

The Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU) holds its 46th Congress in Florence, Italy, from 11 to 14 November 2026 at the Fortezza da Basso, part of the Florence Congress and Exhibition Centre. SIU 2026 is the Society's global annual meeting, bringing together urologists, uro-oncologists, urology nurses, residents and allied healthcare professionals from every world region for four days of practice-focused education, live surgery-style teaching, guideline debate and research presentation.

Scientific programme. Led by Scientific Programme Co-Chairs Dr Seth Lerner (United States) and Dr Vineet Gauhar (Singapore), the programme spans the full breadth of urology — prostate, bladder and kidney cancer, endourology and stone disease, functional and reconstructive urology, andrology and men's health, female urology, paediatric urology, transplantation, and urology in low-resource settings. In-person registration includes over 50 hours of scientific content, the Exhibit Hall, and the SIU@U congress app with live chats, session polling and on-demand playback. A virtual-only registration gives remote delegates live and on-demand access to the key scientific sessions — useful for GCC and wider MENA urologists who cannot travel to Italy in November.

8th Bench-to-Bedside Uro-Oncology: GU Cancers Triad Meeting (Friday 13 November). This full-day translational meeting is included free with in-person congress registration and can also be booked on its own. The 2026 edition runs as a triad of tumour-site blocks — Bladder Cancer (10:00–11:50 CET, moderated by Dr Peter Black, University of British Columbia), Kidney Cancer (12:50–14:30 CET, moderated by Dr Simon Tanguay, McGill University) and Prostate Cancer (14:35–16:15 CET, moderated by Dr Silvia Secco, Niguarda Hospital) — followed by Practice-Changing Advances on the Horizon (16:20–17:25 CET, moderated by Drs Peter Black and Simon Tanguay). A luncheon symposium on the urologist's role in the contemporary management of mCRPC (12:00–12:45 CET) is chaired by Dr Sung Kyu Hong, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. The format deliberately pairs laboratory science with the clinical decisions it is about to change — biomarker-guided systemic therapy, perioperative immunotherapy, ctDNA-informed surveillance and trial-ready patient selection.

Abstracts. Accepted abstracts are presented as ePosters — including new interactive ePoster presentations for 2026 — published on SIU Academy and open access in the Société Internationale d'Urologie Journal. Submission categories include regular abstracts, nursing abstracts and the Residents' Forum. The late-breaking abstract deadline is Wednesday 30 September 2026, 23:59 Eastern.

Registration and fees. Fees are quoted in Euros plus 22% VAT, with early-bird pricing to 15 July 2026 and tiered rates by SIU membership status and World Bank country income classification — so delegates from lower- and middle-income countries pay significantly reduced rates. In-person cancellations are fully refundable less a €100 administrative fee before 12 August 2026; all refund requests close 9 December 2026. Discounted delegate hotel rates are available through Fondazione Destination Florence.

Getting there. Fortezza da Basso is a five-minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station and ten minutes from the Duomo. Florence Peretola (FLR) is the closest airport; Bologna (BLQ), Pisa (PSA) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) all connect to Florence by high-speed rail, with Rome roughly 1h30 away — often the easiest routing for long-haul delegates from the Gulf, Asia and North America.
