ESC Cardio-Oncology 2027, themed "Implementing Excellence in Cardio-Oncology", takes place in Porto, Portugal on 4–5 June 2027. Organised by the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology of the European Society of Cardiology, the conference brings together professionals from cardiology, oncology, haematology, radiotherapy and related disciplines to build the next standard of cardio-oncology care.
As cancer therapies evolve and more people live longer after treatment, cardiovascular care must respond to increasingly complex needs throughout the cancer journey. Through interdisciplinary exchange, the meeting explores how emerging evidence can inform clinical decisions, how recommendations can become effective care pathways, and how services can improve the quality and continuity of care.
The 2027 scientific programme spotlights the move "from guidance to implementation" — the transition from recognising cardiovascular toxicity to implementing robust, risk-adapted and equitable cardio-oncology services. Key themes include service models and quality indicators, digital and AI-enabled pathways, cardiometabolic prevention, imaging and biomarkers, immunotherapy and cellular therapies, survivorship, rehabilitation, and equity in access to care.
Together, participants will work to build quality pathways that set new standards for cardio-oncology care; harness digital tools and connected care to improve surveillance, prevention and follow-up; translate the latest evidence and guidelines into real-world models of care including certification, advanced education and registry-driven improvement; and foster a truly interdisciplinary community uniting cardiology, oncology, haematology, radiotherapy, nursing, research, industry and patient voices.
The conference and its programme are led by Professor Peter van der Meer (Chair of the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology 2026–2028), Associate Professor Pietro Ameri (Chair-Elect) and Dr Teresa López Fernández (Past-Chair).
