The 19th International Diabetes Epidemiology Group (IDEG) Symposium will be held in Singapore from 5 to 9 April 2027. The venue is the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) Headquarters, Nanyang Technological University, 11 Mandalay Road, Singapore 308232, in Singapore's HealthCity Novena. The symposium brings together researchers, epidemiologists, physicians, public health professionals, data specialists, students and trainees working on the causes, burden, prevention and outcomes of diabetes.
Structure
- Monday 5 April 2027, 08:30–17:00: a one-day diabetes epidemiology training course for trainees and early-career researchers.
- Tuesday 6 April 2027, 17:30–19:30: delegate registration and welcome reception at LKCMedicine.
- 6–9 April 2027: the IDEG Symposium, ending at 13:00 on Friday 9 April. The NTU event listing gives the overall window as 5 April, 18:00 to 9 April, 12:00. The organiser's own timings above are used here.
The full programme has not been published yet; the organiser says it is "available soon". The IDF Congress follows the symposium, and IDEG runs a 2027 awards programme.
Call for abstracts
Abstract submission is open until 14 November 2026. Abstracts are accepted from all topic areas and are limited to 250 words, with at most one table or figure and three references. They must be submitted in English as a PDF through the official Google Form. Authors will be told the outcome by 30 November 2026. Accepted abstracts may be chosen for mini-oral, oral or poster presentation. Presenting authors must register by 31 January 2027, or their abstract will be removed from the programme.
