    About this event

The Qatar Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Conference (QPEDC 2026) takes place on 27–28 November 2026 at the Sidra Medicine Auditorium in Doha, Qatar. Organized and hosted by Sidra Medicine, the conference follows the theme “Advancing Excellence in Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Care” and brings together professionals caring for children and adolescents with endocrine disorders.

The multidisciplinary audience includes pediatric endocrinologists, diabetologists, pediatricians, primary care physicians, nurses, dietitians, researchers and other healthcare professionals. The stated objectives are to review current evidence, integrate practical advances into clinical decision-making, critically appraise emerging technologies and therapies, and strengthen collaboration across diabetes, obesity, growth, puberty, thyroid, adrenal and genetic endocrine disease.

Friday’s program begins with childhood diabetes epidemiology, classification, type 2 diabetes in youth and practical insulin therapy and carbohydrate counting. Subsequent sessions address continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pumps and hybrid closed-loop systems, before turning to diabetes emergencies, school and physical activity, and the psychosocial challenges of adolescence. The afternoon examines earlier type 1 diabetes screening and prevention, immune-modulating therapies, islet transplantation and stem-cell approaches, followed by common endocrine emergencies and closing reflections.

Saturday broadens the focus to growth and short stature, including anthropometry, diagnostic assessment and referral. Pubertal development sessions cover Tanner staging, precocious puberty and delayed puberty. Childhood obesity is discussed through recognition, clinical evaluation, management and referral, while thyroid sessions focus on common disorders and interpreting thyroid function tests. The final educational block covers achondroplasia, new growth-promoting therapies, long-acting growth hormone formulations and novel treatment for monogenic obesity.

Three practical workshops are scheduled for Saturday. From 09:00–09:45, Douha Almajaly and Fatima Ismail discuss transitioning patients with poorly controlled multiple daily injections to 780G or Omnipod 5 systems. From 10:00–10:45, Maheen Pasha and Fareeda Umar lead insulin therapy and carbohydrate counting. From 11:00–11:45, Dr. Manal leads healthy lifestyle choices, behavioural science approaches and obesity management. These run alongside the main sessions and are preserved as a separate workshop track.

Conference chair Dr. Khalid Hussain is a Senior Attending Physician at Sidra Medicine. The published program also includes Hoda Yaseen, Amel Khalifa, Muna Sunni, Fawziya Alyafei and numerous other contributors. The full two-day agenda and workshop timetable are indexed with the organiser’s presenter names and times. No abstract-submission deadline, sponsor roster, registration price or verified accreditation award was found in the reviewed current event material; these are not inferred.
