26th WONCA World Conference 2027 — Cape Town

The 26th WONCA World Conference returns to Africa for the first time in 25 years, gathering family doctors and primary care professionals from across the globe in Cape Town, South Africa from 3–7 November 2027.
Hosted by the South African Academy of Family Physicians in collaboration with WONCA Africa and the PRIMAFAMED Network, the conference will be held at the world-class Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
Theme: "The roles of the family doctor in the primary health care team."
This edition explores how multidisciplinary primary care teams deliver high-quality, person-centred, continuous, coordinated and comprehensive care across different contexts. Key themes include:
- Artificial intelligence and digital technology transforming primary care
- Community-Orientated Primary Care (COPC) and integration of primary care with public health
- Building safe and supportive workplaces, leadership and organisational culture
- Resilience of primary care services in the face of climate change, pandemics and austerity
- Research, innovation and clinical skill-building for family physicians worldwide
