FMX 2026 is the American Academy of Family Physicians' premier annual conference, bringing more than 4,000 family physicians, residents and primary care team members to the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, from 20 to 24 October 2026.
The AAFP positions FMX as the place where clinical expertise, practical strategies and real connection come together to lead what comes next in primary care. The programme is built for how family physicians practise today: fast, high-yield clinical updates alongside practice solutions for the everyday challenges of running a primary care service.

FMX Main Stage
The main stage runs across three themed days: Confidence in the future, Building confidence in science and Confidence in evidence-based care. Announced main stage speakers include astronaut and physician Mae Jemison, MD, epidemiologist Jessica Malaty Rivera, science communicator Andrea Love, PhD, and former New York City Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi, MD.
Beyond the sessions
FMX also includes an Expo Hall grand opening reception, dedicated expo hours, a career fair reception and plenty of time for networking with peers from across the United States and abroad. Delegates consistently describe it as a chance to earn a large block of CME in one place while reconnecting with why they chose family medicine.
Registration and housing
Registration is open, with hotel booking handled through the official housing vendor (Maritz) during registration. The AAFP warns delegates about unauthorised third-party websites selling FMX registration, hotel rooms or attendee lists — book only through the official AAFP links.
For international family physicians and primary care teams from the Gulf region, FMX is one of the largest and most practical family medicine meetings in the world, with a heavy emphasis on evidence-based, immediately applicable clinical care.
