The Innovations in Family Medicine Symposium, themed "Future of Primary Care Innovation & Integrated Practice", is held on 28–29 October 2026 (09:00–15:00 daily) at King Salman Specialized Hospital in Taif, in the Banquet Hall on the ground floor of the Administrative Building. It is presented by the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) with the Deanship of Postgraduate Education at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS).
The two-day academic programme focuses on how primary care is evolving and how family physicians can bring new evidence, technology and integrated models into everyday practice. By the end of the symposium, participants will be able to:
- Explore emerging innovations in family medicine and primary care.
- Apply evidence-based approaches to obesity and lifestyle medicine.
- Recognise common emergencies and dermatological conditions in primary care.
- Explore the role of digital health and artificial intelligence in healthcare.
- Enhance integrated care across mental health, preventive medicine and healthy ageing.
These themes reflect the shifting demands on primary care in Saudi Arabia: the rising burden of obesity and chronic disease, the need to recognise urgent presentations and common skin conditions early, the rapid adoption of digital health and AI tools, and the growing emphasis on prevention, mental health and caring for an ageing population within an integrated health system.
Target audience: family physicians, primary healthcare physicians, residents, general practitioners, nurses and all healthcare professionals interested in primary care innovation.
The symposium is free of charge and is accredited with 8 CME hours according to the official brochure. For enquiries, contact the Deanship of Postgraduate Education at almalkim@ksau-hs.edu.sa or 012 224 5178. The detailed session programme and faculty have not been published on the official page.
