The 4th SSMC Congress in Gastroenterology and Hepatology takes place on 2–3 October 2026 at the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, bringing GI and liver specialists together for two focused days on the latest developments across gastroenterology and hepatology.
The scientific programme explores advances in liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, foregut disorders and pancreatobiliary conditions. IBD receives dedicated attention through sessions on current medical management and some of the field's ongoing controversies, while live endoscopy sessions add a practical dimension, putting advanced techniques and procedural skills centre stage. The programme also looks ahead to future trends shaping gastroenterology, hepatology and related specialties.
Plenary sessions, keynote lectures and panel discussions give attendees direct engagement with experts and peers, and all sessions remain available on demand for up to two months after the meeting — a flexible option for busy clinicians. Attendees can earn up to 14 hours of CME credit.
The congress is designed for gastroenterologists, hepatologists and endoscopists, as well as a broad range of physicians, trainees, nurses and allied health professionals working in digestive and liver care. Registration is tiered (AED 300–900) through the official congress platform at mena.events.
Hosted in Abu Dhabi, home to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City's growing academic portfolio, the meeting has become a regular fixture in the UAE's GI calendar and a convenient regional option for specialists across the Gulf.
