    About this event

The Robotic Surgery Collaboration (RSC) Summit 2026 — Istanbul Edition brings global leaders in robotic surgery to Koç University Hospital on 3–4 October 2026 for an in-person meeting built around live operating-room broadcasts rather than slide decks alone.

Founded in 2015 during the rise of the digital revolution in medicine, RSC was never intended to be just another conference. It was envisioned as a community of purpose — a space where knowledge is openly shared between surgeons, scientists, engineers and healthcare leaders working in concert to shape the future of the operating room.

Live surgery at the heart of the experience

Unlike traditional meetings, RSC places real-time surgical demonstrations at the centre of learning. The format offers a rare, unfiltered look inside the OR — showcasing not only technical mastery but the critical thinking and decision-making behind each step:

    • Live robotic procedures broadcast from four dedicated operating rooms
    • Expert panel discussions and interactive Q&A with the operating surgeons
    • Latest-generation multi-port and single-port robotic platforms

    Scientific programme

    Day 1 — Saturday 3 October

    • Hernia Surgery — abdominal wall anatomy, robotic diastasis repair, inguinal hernia repair 2.0, the Danish Hernia Registry, AWR in the obese patient
    • Colorectal Surgery — complete mesocolic excision, a decade of robotic colorectal surgery, the intact TME envelope, flexure cancer, AI in surgical performance assessment
    • Robotic Updates, AI & Innovation — robotic mentorship, acute care surgery, multiport vs SP, telesurgery, and a "Robotic Vision 2040" debate
    • Which Platform I Use — head-to-head experience with Toumai, da Vinci X / Xi / 5, Medtronic Hugo and single-port systems

    Day 2 — Sunday 4 October

    • Bariatric Surgery — robotic RYGB, magnetic anastomosis, stapling science, robot vs lap in bariatric complications
    • Upper GI Surgery — the Hammock anti-reflux procedure, paraesophageal hernia repair, esophagectomy, MALS & SMAS, robotic gastrectomy
    • Keynote — "Innovation Journey of 200 Patents" by Jackie Ying
    • Cardio-Thoracic Surgery — robotic mitral valve surgery, totally endoscopic CABG, thoracic oncology, robotic lung resection
    • Hepatobiliary Surgery — CBD injuries, 100 robotic Whipples, robotic hepatectomy, CBD exploration, distal pancreatectomy
