    About this event

The SSMG 2026 International Conference is held at the InterContinental Hotel, Jeddah on 30 September – 1 October 2026, 09:00–17:00 daily, under the theme "Bridging Diagnosis to Treatment in Genomics" — from genomic diagnosis to precision treatment.

Organised by the Saudi Society of Medical Genetics (SSMG) under the supervision of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), the conference brings together leading experts in medical genetics, genomic medicine, precision therapies, artificial intelligence, prenatal genomics, cancer genomics and rare diseases.

    Scientific themes

    • Genomic Screening — population and newborn screening programmes, carrier screening in consanguineous populations, and the Saudi national genome agenda
    • Prenatal Genomics — non-invasive prenatal testing, prenatal exome and genome sequencing, and counselling for high-risk pregnancies
    • Genomic Diagnosis — exome and whole-genome sequencing, variant interpretation and reanalysis, and shortening the diagnostic odyssey in rare disease
    • Cancer Genomics — germline and somatic testing, hereditary cancer syndromes, and molecular tumour boards
    • AI in Genomics — machine learning for variant classification, phenotype-driven prioritisation and genomic data at scale
    • Precision Therapies — gene therapy, enzyme replacement, antisense oligonucleotides and n-of-1 approaches for inherited disease

    Who should attend

The conference is open to all medical fields. It is particularly relevant for clinical and laboratory geneticists, genetic counsellors, paediatricians and neonatologists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, oncologists, neurologists, molecular pathologists, laboratory scientists, bioinformaticians, pharmacists, nurses and trainees working with genomic data.

    Call for abstracts

Authors are invited to submit scientific abstracts on medical genetics, genomic medicine, rare diseases, molecular diagnostics, artificial intelligence in genomics and precision medicine.

The process is straightforward: download the official SSMG 2026 abstract template (Word), complete your abstract in the required format, and email the completed file to ssmg.Abstract@ssmg.org.sa. The abstract template and the official conference poster are both available for download from the conference page.
