The International Longevity Summit brings the research end of the longevity field to Madrid for two days at the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain, one of the most historic scientific institutions in the country. Convened by futurist and longevity advocate Jose Cordeiro, the summit is deliberately speaker-led and science-facing: the programme is built around researchers presenting the biology of ageing, the interventions being tested against it, and the translational path from laboratory findings to clinical practice.
Confirmed participation includes Maria Blasco, one of the world's leading telomere biologists, whose work on telomerase and cellular ageing sits at the heart of modern geroscience. Sessions span the mechanisms of biological ageing, biomarkers and biological-age measurement, geroprotective compounds, regenerative approaches, and the policy and economic questions that follow if healthy lifespan can be meaningfully extended.
The summit is an annual gathering aimed principally at researchers, clinicians with a scientific interest in ageing, and the investor and policy audience that increasingly follows the field. Attendance is international, with speakers drawn from European, North American and Asian research centres. Optional cultural programming, including UNESCO World Heritage tours, runs on 28-29 September; those tour days are not part of the scientific programme, which is confined to 30 September and 1 October.
For clinicians in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf, the Madrid summit is one of the clearest European entry points into geroscience as a discipline rather than as a wellness category. Preventive medicine, metabolic health and healthy-ageing services are expanding rapidly across the region, and this meeting addresses the evidence base underneath them: what is actually measurable, what is currently testable in humans, and what remains speculative.
Registration, fees and the detailed agenda are published by the organiser. Anyone planning to travel should confirm the final programme and venue arrangements directly with the organising team before booking.
