The Precision Medicine World Conference, widely described as the Davos of precision medicine, holds its 26th annual meeting over three days at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Silicon Valley. The organisers report 3,000+ leaders, 400+ speakers, 150+ sponsors and 15 programme tracks.
PMWC is where genomics, AI and clinical medicine are examined together by the people building all three. The 2027 honorees include four Nobel laureates and several founders of modern artificial intelligence: Emmanuelle Charpentier, Thomas Sudhof, Randy Schekman and David Baker, alongside Daphne Koller, Andrew Ng, Fei-Fei Li, Eric Horvitz, Eric Lander, Aviv Regev, Daniel Drucker and Victor Dzau. The fifteen tracks span clinical genomics and whole-genome sequencing, liquid biopsy and early cancer detection, AI in diagnostics and drug discovery, multi-omics, cell and gene therapy, digital pathology, rare disease, immunotherapy, data infrastructure and regulatory science. Ageing and longevity now sit inside this framework rather than beside it: biological-age clocks, multi-omic biomarkers and preventive risk stratification are precision-medicine problems, and PMWC treats them as such. The Atul Butte competition and startup showcases run alongside the main tracks.
For Saudi and Gulf clinicians, laboratory directors and genomics programme leads, PMWC is directly relevant to the national genomics and precision-medicine initiatives now operating across the region. The diagnostics and data-infrastructure content in particular maps onto the practical work of standing up sequencing services, variant interpretation pipelines and population-scale biobanks.
An East Coast edition, PMWC 2027 Yale, follows on 24-25 June in New Haven.
