About this event

AoME Annual Academic Meeting 2026

20 Oct 2026 – 21 Oct 2026 · Conference Aston, Birmingham, United Kingdom · In-Person

The Academy of Medical Educators' annual meeting returns under the theme "Safeguarding Excellence in Health Professions Education". Educators across all health professions — academics, medical practitioners, dentists, veterinary surgeons and other healthcare professionals — are working in increasingly pressured environments, with workforce shortages and rising service demands challenging the delivery of high-quality education.

The programme examines how to protect and sustain educational excellence in the face of these realities, uphold professional values and learner support, maintain educational quality when resources are stretched, and strengthen education in under-resourced settings and areas of conflict. The meeting is one of the most valuable opportunities for health professions educators to share good practice, explore the latest innovations in healthcare education, and build academic collaborations. The Academy's Annual Quiz and Buffet Social accompanies the scientific programme.
