    About this event

    Overview

Periorbital Filler: Application and Safety is a focused half-day course organised by the Saudi Oculofacial Plastic & Orbital Surgery Association (SOFOA) together with the Saudi Ophthalmology Society, taking place on Saturday, 5 September 2026 (9:45 AM – 1:30 PM) at Symphony Clinic in Riyadh.

The periorbital region is one of the most rewarding — and least forgiving — areas in aesthetic injectable practice. Its dense vascular network, thin skin and complex fat compartments mean that small technical errors can translate into visible contour irregularities, prolonged oedema, or in rare cases vascular occlusion and visual loss. This course is built around that reality: it pairs a practical refresher of periorbital anatomy with an evidence-based review of injection technique and a candid discussion of complications and how to manage them.

    What you will learn

    • Understand periorbital anatomy and its relevance to filler application
    • Review evidence-based techniques for periorbital filler application
    • Discuss safety considerations, potential complications, and their management
    • Explore the use of ultrasound to enhance safety and reduce risks

The ultrasound component reflects a growing shift in injectable practice, where real-time imaging is increasingly used to map vessels before injection and to guide hyaluronidase when an adverse event occurs. Attendees will see how point-of-care ultrasound fits into a routine periorbital workflow rather than being reserved for emergencies.

    Faculty

The course is delivered by Dr. Abdulrahman Aldakhil, Dermatology Consultant and trainer in cosmetic injectables and fillers, whose teaching focuses on safety-first injection protocols in the mid-face and periorbital region.

    Who should attend

Ophthalmologists and oculoplastic surgeons, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and other qualified practitioners who perform — or intend to perform — periorbital soft-tissue augmentation. The content assumes baseline familiarity with injectable products and is best suited to practitioners who want to sharpen technique and strengthen their complication-management pathway.

    Registration

Seats are limited and allocated on a first-come basis through the official registration form. There is no published registration fee. Attendees should register early, as periorbital-focused injectable courses in Riyadh typically fill quickly.
