The Qatar International Neonatal Conference (QINC) 2026 is Hamad Medical Corporation's flagship meeting for neonatal and perinatal medicine, hosted by the Corporate Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Department at the Women's Wellness and Research Center (WWRC). The main conference takes place on 6–7 November 2026 at the Pullman Doha West Bay, preceded by a two-day hands-on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) workshop on 4–5 November at the ITQAN Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center.
Chaired by Dr. Mai Abdulla Al-Qubaisi, Senior Consultant and Director of NICU at HMC, this edition builds on the success of previous meetings and aims to bridge foundational newborn care with the technologies now redefining neonatal outcomes. A central theme is the role of Artificial Intelligence in personalising treatment and improving diagnostic precision — ensuring that technology augments, rather than replaces, clinical expertise.
Scientific pillars
- Neonatal Neurology & Neuro-Critical Care — advanced neuro-monitoring, management and long-term neurodevelopmental follow-up to protect the developing brain.
- Precision Nutrition & Growth Optimisation — latest parenteral and enteral protocols tailored to extremely preterm infants.
- Infection Control & Sepsis Management — diagnostic biomarkers, antimicrobial stewardship and multidrug-resistant organisms in the NICU.
- Advanced Hemodynamics & POCUS — bedside functional echocardiography, lung ultrasound, cardiovascular stability and PDA management.
- Integration of Artificial Intelligence — clinical, legal and ethical perspectives on AI in neonatal care.
Programme highlights
Day 1 (6 Nov) opens with neonatal hemodynamics — choosing the right vasoactive agent (Dr. Shahab Noori), acute pulmonary hypertension in neonates (Dr. Sherif Dabbour) and combining lung ultrasound with echocardiography in PDA assessment (Dr. Ahmed Muharram) — followed by a session on ethics, viability and decision-making, including outcomes of infants born at 23 weeks and a debate on parental autonomy. The afternoon covers ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention, NICU sepsis and fetal anomaly detection. Day 2 (7 Nov) focuses on POCUS in the crashing newborn and in neonatal transport, stem cells and precision medicine in neonatal diabetes, precision medicine in sepsis, AI and brain injury in preterm infants, neonatal airway disorders, and oral poster presentations.
Pre-conference POCUS workshop (4–5 Nov)
An immersive, station-based workshop for neonatologists covering functional echocardiography and lung ultrasound protocols, real-time hemodynamic assessment and bedside diagnostic procedures.
