    About this event

Pediatric emergency care across three virtual days

The 11th Qatar Pediatric Emergency Medicine International Conference (QPEM 2027) takes place 15–17 January 2027 online, organised by Sidra Medicine. It is a virtual conference, not an in-person meeting at Sidra’s Doha campus. The programme is designed for professionals providing emergency and urgent care to ill and injured children, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, EMTs, dentists, medical students and other members of multidisciplinary clinical teams.

QPEM aims to provide an evidence-based update that strengthens practical knowledge and critical thinking while supporting research, quality improvement and patient safety. Its published three-day scientific programme combines core pediatric emergency medicine with education and research, trauma, toxicology, child safeguarding, nursing, patient safety and quality. Digital and AI healthcare is identified as a new track, addressing emerging applications alongside their clinical and ethical implications.

The opening programme includes pediatric CPR controversies, parental refusal of care, pediatric CT decision-making, reassurance and bedside point-of-care ultrasound. Parallel sessions cover metabolic and endocrine emergencies, raised intracranial pressure, debriefing after critical events, pediatric sepsis, communication under pressure and active learning. Later tracks extend the discussion to safeguarding, toxicological emergencies and artificial intelligence in healthcare. The full published timetable and learning objectives are included with the scientific programme below.

Conference leadership includes Prof Khalid Al Ansari and Dr Syed Haris Huda. The official faculty and planning pages also identify Muhammad Islam, Omair Mohammed Syed, Nadeem Jilani, Frankie Nolasco Famillaran, Guillaume Alinier and Muthukumar Sakthivel, with affiliations across Sidra Medicine, Hamad Medical Corporation and academic partners.

Registration fees are published in USD: one day USD 30; two days USD 50; all three days USD 60. The advertised starting amount therefore covers one day only. The conference website’s current registration form explicitly lists the 15–17 January 2027 full-conference option. Sidra’s overview still says registration is opening soon; attendees should follow the linked current-edition form and verify their chosen days before paying.

Call for abstracts: submissions close 24 November 2026 at midnight Qatar time. Oral presentations are delivered live virtually and posters are displayed online. Abstracts are limited to 300 words; at least one author must register. Acceptance notification is scheduled for 8 December, with presenter registration due 22 December. Use the 2027 template: older 2026 template and guide links remain on the source page.

Sidra publishes ACCME/ACPE/ANCC provider accreditation, but no confirmed event-specific hours are stated for this edition. No credit total is inferred from programme duration. No 2027 pre-conference workshops or named event sponsors have been verified.
