    About this event

The 9th Biennial Emirates Physiotherapy Conference will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 30–31 October 2027. Organized by the Emirates Physiotherapy Society (EPS), the conference carries the theme “From the UAE to the World: Advancing Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.” The dates reflect the new dates prominently announced on the official website; a specific venue has not yet been confirmed in the reviewed material.

The EPS welcome message presents the meeting as a professional-development and knowledge-exchange opportunity for the physiotherapy and rehabilitation community. Its ambition is both regional and international: to showcase the UAE’s contribution to clinical practice, research and innovation while encouraging collaboration with colleagues from around the world. The educational objectives include advancing research and clinical practice, promoting evidence-based and patient-centred rehabilitation, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, exploring rehabilitation technologies and supporting leadership and research engagement.

Five principal tracks have been announced: pain neurosciences, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, neurological physiotherapy and pediatric physiotherapy. The detailed timetable and workshop arrangements are not yet published, so these tracks are recorded as the announced scientific scope rather than assigned invented session times. The speaker page currently names Professor Charlotte K. Häger, with a clinical affiliation to the orthopedic clinics at University Hospital of Umeå, Sweden; Professor Hanan Khalil of Qatar University; and Associate Professor Tasha Stanton of the University of South Australia.

Abstract submissions are invited from researchers, clinicians, educators and students. The deadline is 30 June 2027, results are scheduled for 21 July 2027, and accepted presenters must register by 30 July 2027. Submissions must be in English through the online form; email submissions are not accepted. Abstracts may contain no more than 350 words, with a concise uppercase title of no more than 20 words and three to five keywords. The scientific committee reviews submissions and determines oral or poster presentation format.

The abstract themes encompass musculoskeletal disorders, biomechanics, exercise therapy, sports injury prevention and return to sport, pain mechanisms and education, stroke and other neurological rehabilitation, early intervention and family-centred pediatric practice. Cross-cutting topics include digital health, artificial intelligence, wearable technologies, patient engagement, outcome measurement and sustainable services.

The intended audience includes physiotherapists, rehabilitation professionals, educators, researchers, students and related medical disciplines, including orthopedics, family medicine, sports medicine and neurology. Registration is linked through the official conference site. Named commercial sponsors, fees and a confirmed accreditation award have not yet been verified. The listing preserves the announced speakers, research opportunities and specialty tracks while awaiting the complete scientific program.
